AI Girlfriends will create a billion dollar business

April 17, 2024 by Raymond Hackney

AI Girlfriends

When I interviewed Rick Schwartz at the beginning of the year he mentioned he purchased female first names in .ai including $20K for Betty.ai.

Rick mentioned:

Well, let me put it this way. One of the big sectors of Ai is virtual girlfriends. And so I have four female first names ending in Ai. Like Betty.Ai and Selina.Ai for example.

Greg Isenberg who I follow on Twitter is now featured in an article by The New York Post on AI girlfriends and how they could become real big business.

Greg had tweeted he met a 24M who was spending $10,000 a month on AI girlfriends. When you read a lot of replies so many are either shocked or have no understanding.

I always thought this was a no brainer if you pay attention to people, society and relationships. I am far from a technology genius, but after seeing the movie HER back in 2013I said to the person I saw it with, “This is just the start, there will be dating services that are completely artificial intelligence.”

I just had no idea had to build one but I certainly thought it was a no brainer.

The market cap for Match Group is $9B. Someone will build the AI-version of Match Group and make $1B+.

I met some guy last night in Miami who admitted to me that he spends $10,000/month on "AI girlfriends".

I thought he was kidding. But, he's a 24 year old single guy who loves… pic.twitter.com/wqnODwggAI

It’s not just men seeking women.

Replika, the AI chatbot software, offers users the chance to create their own boyfriend or husband for just a few hundred dollars. Replika no longer allows adult content, said Eugenia Kuyda, Replika’s CEO. Now, when Replika users suggest X-rated activity, its humanlike chatbots text back “Let’s do something we’re both comfortable with

Platforms such as Nomi.ai and Soulmate even encourage erotic role play.

Andy Booth purchased Girlfriend.ai for $170,000 and has a waiting list up on the site. He could be sitting on a potential goldmine if he gets the development right.

I think these first name.ai and FirstnameAi.com will continue to be a niche that has decent demand, of course do your own research.

The guys who think AI girlfriends are gonna be a big hit are forgetting the POINT of a girlfriend. The point is to have sex with a chick. A chatbot doesn’t do that.

.im seems to be the 4th most popular AI chatbot tld after .ai / .io / .bot and so I got eve.im but probably more as an alternative to alexa / siri than a girlfriend

Have seen a lot of first names being taken in .im too in the recent past, interesting times ahead for sure

Andy’s purchase makes perfect senses, keyword. Ricks is such a stretch my head is literally turned side ways reading this logic. Girlfriends have names so if I own a name of a girl ending in .AI I will target the segment looking for AI gf’s named Betty…LOL

Needed a laugh to start the week.
