GoDaddy has partnered with ENS Domains, I believe these partnerships between registrars and ensdomains will become more commonplace as time goes by.
EnsDomains published a blog post that goes into greater detail. Once it is configured, the domain name can be used in place of an Ethereum address in a range of web3 applications including wallets, block explorers, NFT marketplaces, etc
If you use Twitter/X there will be a spaces with Paul Nicks on Wednesday.

Okay, so for those who know more than me about that topic, how does this compare to what .box is now offering?
Worse, or still worse?
(Practically) just as good?
Better?
Inquiring minds want to know.
For example, from what I’ve seen it may involve just adding a TXT record to DNS, is that right? Would that then mean you wouldn’t necessarily have to have the domain at GoDaddy, or would such a TXT record only involve some proprietary software controlled by GoDaddy? Etc.
In general I really like the idea of just being able to add a TXT record to use a domain with ENS, but not if it’s limited to GoDaddy only.

I’d say an interesting question is: what if you loose ownership of your domain name?
Am leaving this here 😉

So will .eth and .crypto domains become useless?
I personally don’t have those but saw some trends and big(probably fake) sales being reported in those TLDs.
This is good move though. Brining more functionality to existing domains is always a welcome step.
