The results of our poll for greatest domain investor of all time are in. The poll was also conducted on Namepros to see how different audiences view the best. Rick Schwartz won going away at both sites.
Rick took 24% of the vote here at TheDomains.com and 32.7% at Namepros. Frank Schilling took second at Namepros. Frank was behind both Mike Carson and Andrew Rosener at TheDomains. They tied for second with 20 votes. The reasons why you will see some others added on Namepros was due to the mods adding some names that I did not.
Of course there are many schools of thought, someone said it should be done by different eras, others felt compare newcomers to newcomers. We might in the future. This poll was all time and based off domain investing.

Was there ever a doubt? Rick is the best for me and had my vote.
You read the commentary on namepros, holy crap, these are some of the dumbest people inhabiting the planet. Snowflakes voting for friends, someone said Brad Mugford is their greatest of all time. Brad is a good guy but greatest of all time??? Put the pipe down. Fuck
Donna Adams says
Both great domainers but I’d vote for Rick Schwartz (I missed the poll) because he did it without a roadmap!

The legend/ego continues to grow. Lol
Brad Mugford says
I agree. I would not put myself on the list.
I would vote for Rick Schwartz as well. He has been a consistent presence for 25+ years.
He is an OG investor that has some of the best domains and has had many multi-million dollar sales.
Pretty much everyone on the list has accomplished a lot in the field.
It is hard to compare generations. People like Andrew Rosener, Booth brothers, etc. came in later and have done incredible things. Others took the financial risk in the mid to late 90’s and acquired amazing portfolios.
I think Frank Schilling lost some credibility with his “.COM is AM radio” new gTLD pumping.
Brad

Not Rich, but Richard. He is an old man.

Who in the hell voted For Rosener that guy sank domainsherpa everything he touches turns to mush like the Bronx tale. We’ve been mushed. He likes to tout names he is selling but pays $600,000 for a name just to sell it for $620,000 he is a walking gimmick all talk and no substance. Sherpa shows have hit rock bottom they were only good back in 2013,14,15

I only have a handful of names but when I emailed Rick on occasion with some questions when serious offers came through, he always replied back to me with well-thought answers and solutions. For that and all the other times he would have selflessly helped people I have to give my vote to him and wish him the best of luck with his businesses.
