Owning a two letter .com is a symbol of exclusivity and prestige. There are only 676 available, one company is moving on from their special domain and redirecting it. The company is rebranding from RB.com to Reckitt. The new company website is Reckitt.com.
The company released a video and press release:
I think these can be problematic domains, reminds me a lot of Weight Watchers and WW.com where the branding element of an acronym isn’t great.
I think typing their name in 10 times, I am going to typo it at least 2 times, 0 typos with RB.com.
The B represents Benkiser (Reckkitt + Benkiser, merger in 1999) and it looks like they want to move away from it.
It’s a funny one – Reckitt shouts “Wreck it” to me – questionable if that’s the smartest rebrand they could have done!
More like “wrecked it”

I remember around 10-12 years ago, a person could hand-register two-character .tv domains for a few hundred dollar premium price then regular registration price for subsequent years. I wish I would have grabbed some, because a few years later the .tv registry made it so nobody could buy 1 or 2 character domains from them anymore. And the two-character .com domains were long gone before I ever heard of domains…dollar short and day late seems like the theme of my investing life, LOL !!!
I don’t think too many have made a profit off .tv domains, most have big losses. The reg fees would have eaten up any gain.
So now I know who I sold reckitt.uk to in December.
Also in December reckitt.de made it to the Sedo top sales too
I can understand a split/breakup in business and having to rebrand. Smart for them to keep the LL and simply redirect, like they are doing. They’ll be just fine.
