Back in April I asked if the future of NamesCon was virtual?
It looks like it’s going to at least be apart of the future. I thought the online show went off very well and exceeded expectations. I think it needs to be a permanent event.
- 1020 domaining professionals registered for NamesCon Online, coming from all over the world.
- An average of 250 attendees took part in each Keynote Track session.
- An average of 100 attendees took part in each Breakout Track session.
NamesCon announced the 2021 schedule
NamesCon Online 2021: January 27th-29th
While January is normally the season for NamesCon Global, that event has been moved to later in the year, as you’ll see. But first, get ready for another edition of NamesCon Online! No flights, no hotels, no worries—this event is for the entire domaining world, all at once. Registration will open around the end of October.
I was glad to see this and also to win a $50 bet I made with someone who was sure there would be a live NamesCon in January 2021. I wanted the bet to be $500 but they did not want that much action.
NamesCon Europe 2021: July 15th-17th will be in Budapest.
In Autumn NamesCon hopes to have it’s first hybrid event with both live and virtual participation.
I think they are making the right decision by offering a virtual only and then a hybrid event later in the year. It allows for many more people to attend in the manner that’s best for them.
