Perfect 10 was a men’s magazine that looked to rival Playboy. The founder supposedly started the magazine when a friend got rejected from Playboy.
I remember watching model boxing by Perfect 10 on Showtime back in the day.
The company founder became quite litigious over the years and Wikipedia details some of them.
One famous case was against Giganews.
Perfect 10, Inc. v. Giganews, Inc.
In April 2011, Perfect 10 sued Giganews, a prominent usenet provider, for both direct and indirect infringement.[9] Giganews prevailed on all grounds, and in March 2015 Perfect 10 was ordered to pay Giganews $5,213,117.06 in attorney’s fees and $424,235.47 in costs. In January 2017 the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed the original judgement.
The last print edition of the magazine was published in the summer of 2007.
The domain name closed at NameJet on Friday at $47,510.
David J Castello says
$5 million in attorney fees? Ouch.
JZ says
SO what happened to Norm? Will he come after the domain? Or has he moved on?
Raymond Hackney says
Well he tried to appeal the Giganews case and wanted the Supreme Court to hear it. That supposedly bankrupted Perfect 10 magazine.
