On June 12, 2018 Donuts announced the largest reported new gtld sale. The registry sold Online.Casino for $510,000.
A year later Marek from Brands.International posted a link on Namepros to a Domain Sherpa show about the SEO experts building the site.
Meet the Team of SEO Experts Building Online.Casino
I did not watch the episode so feel free to tune in if you like
Meet the team of SEO experts behind last year’s record-breaking new gTLD acquisition of Online.Casino. Hear how gTLDs are performing in SEO, how they make brands stand out, and how these serial entrepreneurs think outside the box. Interesting new show at Domain Sherpa regarding this topic can be found here:

The website is now finally live, previously the site displayed the following message:
Soon, the worlds best casino website Online.Casino will launch, and boy do we have a lot of cool stuff in store for you. Our goal is to use the latest technology available to create a product the world have never seen before. This might take some (to say the least) development hours to materialize but with a clear goal in mind we’ll surely raise the bar for the whole gambling industry.
When you look at the site, you would gather it was built by SEO experts. They describe themselves as, “a one-stop-shop for people looking for articles and guides to online casino gaming. A lot of the content on our website is international, and true no matter where you live.”
Now I should point out OnlineCasino.com has been online since 1999. OnlineCasino.com also operates along the same lines with affiliate programs to casinos, guides and tips.
Of course the key to traffic with these sites is in their SEO, when I do a search on Google for Online Casino, I don’t get either site on the first page or second. Interestingly I see www.onlinecasinobluebook.com on page 3. I went 8 pages deep on Google for Online Casino and neither site showed up here, (your results may differ).
Searching for online casinos, the plural version gave me similar results, the folks at Casino.guru must be doing good SEO because they were on page two.

Now I need to point out I am in Pennsylvania and Google has just started to allow ads to be shown here.
Casino.org wrote about the new change that took place last month.
The ads will be allowed to run in Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania – the states currently permitting online casinos. In the Silver State, the largest US gaming market, operators aren’t allowed to offer games such as blackjack, craps, and other standard casino fare online
This is a highly competitive niche, we are a domain blog and I get emails every other day from online gaming companies and SEO firms who want to pay us for an article with two ‘do follow” links. Most are willing to pay more for that article than companies in our very own space, pay for a month’s worth of display advertising.
Here is a look at Online.Casino

Disclaimer: Please note this is the largest reported new gtld sale of all time. There could be bigger sales from ninjas in the shadows but we can’t report on something unknown.
Frank says
That is a lot of money for a site like that. I know seo takes time and that’s what they need but better ways to spend half a mil.
Love the disclaimer Raymond, shut the assholes up before they can even open their mouth. Oh I know a guy from Canada who sold a new gtld for $2million but didn’t want to report it. LOL
Eugene says
???
Same feelings re disclaimer.
Matt says
What would you spend 1/2 a mil on?
Josh says
I suppose if the money isn’t yours…. let it burn.
VR says
Not their money? It wasn’t a real sale? That sucks
Josh says
That is not what I said.
VR says
I don’t understand what you said, how do you know it was not their money?
Josh says
I am just going to guess you never heard of a figure of speech?
Businesses have investors.
Nether says
Just ignore him it’s just the typical snarky blog comment, he knows nothing if they have an investor. Who the fuck would invest in someone buying this name?
steve says
nice sale. no surprise….onlinecasino, casinonline seem to fetch high prices in any extension
i have a few solid keywordsrelated to betting for the .casino extension…small offers in low 4 figure range…but i believe .bet, casino have potential for nice sales/dev

John says
Even though it’s not the choice I would have made, it’s still a good domain with interesting potential. A rare example of a very high quality ngTLD domain in a vast sea of others. An “exception” if you will.
