    You know, we all look at this prices lists and come to the conclusion that ‘some’ of these ‘sales’ are completely bogus, if not worse. And most of the time we just let it go.

    But does ANYONE really believe that someone “paid” ~ $10,000 for CatAdoption.com?

    I would like the ‘buyer’ to come on this board and tell everyone why they (allegedly) paid that amount of money for such an incredibly worthless name. Oh, maybe they’ll be willing to share the PPT deck with us and show us that the Cat-Adoption market was $89B last year and and expected to grow at a CAGR of 45% for the next 400 years?

    And I couldn’t care less WHO that buyer happens to be, but this is the sort of transaction that causes people to have such disdain for this industry.

    On the flip-side (I guess)…the next time someone questions why you’ve given them what they believe is an outlandish quote on a decent name you could always point to this example.

      If CatAdoption.com for $10,000 is the worse sale you have ever seen, you need to look at more sales.

      The disdain does not come from Catadoption.com the people who have disdain for this business don’t believe anyone, should be able to own more than 10 domains without building websites and selling for anything more than cost should be illegal, that’s where the disdain comes from.

      Lastly I doubt the person buying catadoption.com cares what anyone in the domain industry thinks.

      Looks like the seller was Frank Schilling and he certainly is not selling cheap, so I would say it’s a legit sale. Just my opinion.
