Another big 4L.com sale discovered today as Rob Monster shared the details on the sale of DoTo.com on Namepros.
On 7/15/19, someone visited your domain name DOTO.COM which was powered by one of Epik’s SSL Marketplace landers. After some back and forth, they accepted your counter-offer of $69,995 through the Epik Marketplace.
Michael Bilde the seller is no stranger to making big 4L.com sales.
Earlier today I wrote about Nium.com selling for $90,000.

That was an unusual case there — we normally don’t disclose sales.
It was a nice sale and there was 3L.com purchase that was funded 2 days later with the transaction proceeds from the 4L.com sale.
We are happy to see Michael now consolidating domains at Epik and expanding his use of the new SSL parking landers that are turning out to be very effective for inbound.
As for Epik’s O&O portfolio, we have stopped all outbound. It is inbound only and it is working vastly better for high value sales and leases.

I’ve just started using the SSL landers recently and really like them. It’s also really nice to be able to do some content edits. Frankly, got me more interested in the sales and leasing side of things than I usually am lately.
It’s really great to be able to edit the leasing contracts by adding custom terms too. I definitely make use of that.
One thing I would really like to be able to do is include some custom javascript code to either the header (preferably) or the content section of the landers. Right now there is no way to add it to the header, and when you view code for the content section and try to do it there it doesn’t stick. Presumably that means right now the feature is coded to not allow that kind of embedded code.
One more thing that would be super great is if the “{domain}” feature could be set to keep your “transform” casing format; i.e., make it show “ExampleExample.com” instead of all lowercase wherever you place the “{domain}.”
Overall, a really great new feature that I really like. And if it can get someone like me who stopped putting any real effort into selling a long time ago to use it, that’s pretty nice to say the least.

PS, and it certainly goes without saying – haven’t seen anything like it anywhere else. 🙂

Good work, John.
On adjusting the casing of domains as they are displayed on the landers, in the Marketplace menu in the domain manager for each domain you will see something called “Domain Transforms and Keywords”. You can edit the default CamelCasing there.
As for adding custom Javascript, we’ll check that. You can already insert your own Google Analytics among other advance techniques, which can be very helpful for doing ad retargeting of folks that get to your parking landers, for example.
The best part has been that we have had some great ongoing feedback from NamePros powers users who are actively co-creating with us. Our lead designer, Ala Dadan, is also using a NamePros thread started by a client as a sort of “Ask me Anything” virtual co-development tool. See here:

I am becoming a big fan of the NamePros community. The Domains.com needs to add the ability to add attachments and screen shots in the comment section in order to keep up with the truly outstanding NamePros forum platform. It is actually quite a masterpiece and the moderation is reasonable too.

Hi Rob – been using the Domain Transforms and Keywords feature for quite a while now and certainly love it. Yes it does govern the domain display in the center of the page nicely, so I’m just referring to the “{domain}” feature for editing the parking page. That’s a really great feature, but right now it enters the domain in all lower case wherever you place it. So for instance, at the top of the page the site title is going to appear as e.g. “exampleexample.com – Buy or Lease Now with Epik…” instead of also capturing the CamelCasing you have set in Domain Transforms and Keywords and appearing as “ExampleExample.com – Buy or Lease Now with Epik…” Would be great if “{domain}” was coded to check if there was CamelCasing set and then incorporate that if there is.
Being able to embed some javascript in addition to the editing of markup one can do now, preferably in the section, would be a real plus. Even the content/body section which already enables some editing would be good for it too. Not into using Google Analytics myself, though never say never and maybe I’ll try it sometime. You could call me a Google Analytics holdout so far.
Will check that NP thread out. Love these new features and these new parking pages and it’s rekindled my interest in pursuing more of the sales and leasing side of things these days in addition to the end user side.

John,
Quick follow up here:
– The CamelCasing editor should work for any of your domains. See above comment or contact support.
– The engineers reviewed the request for custom Javascript and deem the security risk too high. That said, just ask us about your specific idea. It could be that there is general interest in it, e.g. similar how we allow you to install your own customer Google analytics code with no technical skills required.
One further feature, I think we’ll enable is to make it possible to allow someone to take offers for leased domains. Right now this is not possible however what we see people doing, especially from emerging markets is they can lease a domain for say $10/month with a purchase option and then try to find a buyer for it as a sort of domain win-win domain arbitrage.
As it is, most domain leases do come with purchase options. Leasing is becoming extremely popular, and it is an effective way to respond to someone who says your asking price is too expensive. Our standard reply for incoming offers for non-crap domains, especially brandables, is now at/above $100,000. If the buyer balks, we present the lease option before getting backed into considering offers.
Last but not least, Epik will help folks who get offers to close those deals. We have a live chat that helps to get the prospect to de-cloak, and this is attended ~24/7. Afternic tries to get you to call them but in case you missed it, millennials don’t like calling. 🙂 As such, we think live chat should be one of the options for engaging prospects at least long enough to get them to identify themselves.

Doto.com ok I can see the price in that, nium.com is a shooting star more of a sale, one in a million type deal.
Michael says
Yes, doto.com was a nice sale. But nium.com for $90K was a stunning sale!
