Last November I wrote about Translate.com closing at $853,000 on Flippa. This was a developed website. I kept checking the whois and said to a friend maybe it did not sell because there was no update.
Well now it’s updated, the buyer was revealed on Slator.com as they found a Ukranian website that revealed the buyer.
However, in early February 2019, Ukrainian website Vector revealed the domain’s buyer to be Oleksii Vitchenko.
From the article:
According to Vitchenko, Digital Future “only bought domain and other digital assets” and has not “purchased a company running the translate.com site.”
Under its new ownership, Translate.com is now “being run by a small distributed team,” Vitchenko said. But “when there is a need, we’ll probably think of a permanent office,” he added. “We hired a team of experts and development professionals to take this business to another level.”

Good detective work. Great place in the world to use that domain.

Still surprised this was a real sale. The domain alone is worth multiples of the sale price. Any revenue from the website is icing. Great buy.

It was one of the biggest sales on Flippa. The new owners can make a lot of money if they focus on providing services like article writing and translation service marketplace, similar to Upwork.
