I remember this name along with nyc.biz floating around years ago and I thought they were reasonable deals. nyc.biz was being sold for $5k at the time and I remember thinking why is noone taking a punt at this!
There’s a reason certain names stay in hot potato mode, even if they look like names with potential. I also think these type of names are more attractive to people outside of NYC who look at the city with a certain lens – there’s a perception discrepancy between outside investors and the assumed potential endusers for this type of name inside the city who would rather go for other names.
Manhattan.info now has the added competition with keyword.nyc domains where so many great keywords are available for reg fee or 1 or 2k.

I kept wondering if I would ever see a .info on page 1 of Google. I think I’ve only seen that one time since it was released.

Here in Australia I get a .info in the 1st position on page 1 when I type Sydney buses if that helps.
Of course the NSW transport authority uses .info so that helps.

Same here in NYC with mta.info

It’s reseller junk! All names that get sold more than 1-2 times are. 5 times is like putting up a neon sign to tell everyone what a lemon it is.
