    the white elephant.

second consecutive week No New gTLDs

and pseudo-bloggers still pushing them as an investment… in the name of a dollar.

I have started spending more money on .COMs. I have more than 300 new gTLDs but only received two inquiries in the past 6 months. 0 sales. Most of them are really good names. I think new gTLDs don’t make sense now for most businesses. I will drop 90% of them and re-register some of the good ones at discounted pricing. Fortunately, I bought most of new gTLDs at deeply discounted pricing, Typically $0.48 to $1.88 so it is not a huge loss. I saw someone who had registered over 2000 crap .com and .de domains in 4 months worth over EUR20,000 :-). So poor investment choices cuts both ways. It is not like all .COM investors are swimming in money either. Most haven’t sold a domain this year. Domaining is tough! It should be a hobby, not full time “business”, at least for beginners.

no-one is questioning this absurdity? react-deposit.com sold for $12500? it is a phrase that means nothing, according to google search, and it was just registered last week at godaddy . also it is still listed for sale on sedo for $485. the not hyphenated version is listed also for $485.

Hi Mary, you are right! Thanks for the hint! The domain has not sold at all. There was a glitch in our list and the domain should not have been in it. The domain was not sold and is indeed still listed with us. Sorry for the confusion.

@Raymond: Would you mind updating the article? Thanks a lot!

      Best regards,
