Congrats & thanks for sharing!
I think one of the most important points in successfull domaining is to realize the moment when you should agree with an offer.

Very cool post, thank you for sharing. I sold Active.network for $600 on 3-15-2016.
Purchased: $35 a few weeks before.

Nice sales.
Congrats to Ali Zandi!
Snoopy says
Looking at the acquisition prices it doesn’t sound profitable unless he is just quickly flipping everything he owns.
Ali Zandi says
~140% ROI = profitable enough. Sold City.Life/Night.Life within days of registering them. ~$2.8k invested -> ~$6k net profit in a couple days on just those two, not profitable? 😉 I flipped almost all of them before renewals.
Main Portfolio says
How did you find the buyer of those .life gtld?
Ali Zandi says
They found me. They emailed me through my Whois info a few days after I reg’d them.
Restaurants says
Good sales, we have many great gtld’s like villa.company, honey.company, heaven.life, profit.agency, payments.digital, income.work, vacation.run and the list goes on….we love our .com’s too but also have love for the great keyword combinations for certain gtld’s. There is still much money to be made in this space. Payments.digital in the right hands of a company could be beyond major.

What about the $3,xxx loss on 8888.xyz?
Honestly in most cases on those margins in a portfolio basis you would be under, those margins are way to low, not deducting for operational, and closing costs.
Ali Zandi says
The loss on 8888.xyz was worth the risk. Those margins are just for a few nGTLD domains, and as a business, I’ve been way in the black every year since I started. So I’m not too worried about a few bad/risky buys here and there. I can afford to take risks.

Great sales stats Ali congrats.
The problem with these premium domains is holding them. Even though Ali has a good eye for what to purchase and domains that make sense, still he got lucky when he was contacted within days of the purchase of some of these names and flipped most before renewal. Not everyone is this lucky even if the domain is a killer domain. But his overall strategy is great buy then sell quickly for a decent yet reasonable profit. Don’t hold forever waiting for a million dollar offer which may never come. There is money in everything if it’s done correctly and reasonably.

haw can you do this give some tips.
Danny says
As your portfolio grows the chance of users contacting you in days to make 4 figure purchases is very hard to susutain. I would urge newbies to proceed with caution.
People are asking on tips how you can do this without showing the losers, your numbers are skewed, It is not an honest assessment of overall cost breakdowns, and profits.
Ali Zandi says
Tip? Yes, stick to acquiring premium .com’s until you have the money to take a few calculated risks.
Alessandro says
We live in a world of fake boobs and fake news.
This may sound a bit cynical/sceptical but would a new gTld registry pay a couple of hundred bucks or just over a thousand bucks to buy a domain name registered on its extension just to create a bit of buzz and cheap hype?
Alessandro says
Ali Zandi said “They found me. They emailed me through my Whois info a few days after I reg’d them”.
Lucky you!
Danny says
This happens from time to time, but to subsisting across gtlds it takes registrations in numbers to dollar cost average.
Nick says
Then the buyer of Travel.Agency took a huge loss when it sold for $3000 at NamesCon. 70% Loss. not including all the loss from fees. People crazy
Danny says
25 percent commission I believe
Danny says
The seller of travel.agency prior to auction had been marketing it at cost, but no takes primarily due to the $500 annual renewal.
Nick says
Wow, so 77.5% Loss. I guess better than the 100% loss after a few years of renewals
Expired Picks says
I don’t know about this. Domain were not sold to end users, they were sold to resellers. Who bought Travel.Agency for 10k them sold it for 3k months later. Just so very odd.
David says
A key connection with these sales is the fact so many are one word names closely related to the new tld. A big problem is the good ones are already registered, held back, or excessive premium pricing by the registry. I am sure the market for multi-word new tlds is far from good, if it even exists at all.
