The .US domain name extension gained over 100,000 domains yesterday.
The domain name registrar, Uniregistry started a promotion of .US registrations for only $.10 officially starting at on October 1 but but yesterday was the first day Uniregistry actually sent out an email blast of the $.10 domain registration promotion.
According to RegistrarStats.com; the number of .US domain names increase by 104,424 domains yesterday to 1,834,369.
That is an increase of more than 7% in one day for an extension which reached 1.5 million registrations over six years ago, back in January 2010 and had just 1,730,000 domains before the sale.
The promotion at Uniregistry is scheduled to end on October 7th.
The sale does not include premiums, renewals, and/or transfers.
The .US is operated by Neustar (NSR).

Heyo,
Neustar needs to give Lori Anne the budget and full support to resurrect this extension in much the same way she helped to market and launch .CO.
Cheers,

Market conditions have changed, there is hundreds of options now, ones that sold for 1cent, weekly promos, this is a bottom feeders game

Albeit not $10k, I received a $xxx offer just 2 days after registering a $0.10 .US name at Uni. Sometimes you find gold in these deals. Just have to know what to look for, I guess.
