I always wonder why such names are not offered when the extension begins ?
Jane Doe says
Well…according to a few registrars…
Home.nyc
…can currently be registered for around $35
I would try myself, but I’m not NYC based

I assure that home.nyc is a mistake, they had some errors like that last time at registrars, most good names are long since gone on .nyc . Real estate saw one of the hottest biddings last auction round two years ago, and this names are better.

The domain was registered this morning

Yes, i seen it happened with number of neighborhoods.nyc domains , like astoria.nyc or midwood. It is held some where by registry of registrar choice, and only gets registered when they ready to use it. It threw me off initially also, but since then i see it regularly on .nyc
Some body holding all the city domains as warehouse, and they take out when they need it.
Home.nyc is one of the warehoused names, i guess it was time for it to see the light.

Ahh, just saw it. Hmm that is active investor name, i am pretty sure it was a glitch in their system. Good luck to Rachel trying to argue that it should get free super premium name. Nice try on snatching it though!
Ryan says
Also amazing this lady owns 400 domain names, is a real estate agent, and doesn’t even have one live for her own website listings.
Funny also she wouldn’t spend $10 to register her own .com, Maybe Uncie Berkens can do that for her at hexonet also
