Home Box Office (HBO) registered several interesting new domain names yesterday through brand protection company and domain namr registrar Mark Monitor.
The domain registrations indicate HBO maybe planning a “news network” either on HBO or a stand alone station.
Of course HBO has a couple of “newsy” type shows already Late Week with John Oliver and Real Time With Bill Mahaer both of which mix comedy with left leaning politics.

I would imagine this has to do with the attention that their show “Vice” grabs, the creators received a deal with A&E and Disney invest $200 million: “A&E and Vice said they would work together to sell ads on Viceland, which is to be distributed initially to roughly 70 million homes in the United States.” http://goo.gl/Iryqdc
