.WS is making their push into the Chinese market and a press release that came out stated that in the past 3 months .WS registrations have increased by 1500%.
The initial auctions contain LL names like MB and DX, there are NNN names like 887 and 288. I am interested to see where these auctions close and what the bidding action looks like. I have never owned a .WS domain, I have never been paid by their registry for full disclosure. I do like seeing registries reinvigorate their marketing strategy. It is a very competitive market and you cannot just sit back and hope for registrations, I think some wish other extensions would step up their marketing and promotion game.

NameJet Partners with .WS Registry To Release 2 and 3 Character Domains In No Reserve Auctions
Kirkland, WA (PRWEB)
Utilizing NameJet’s award-winning auction technology, the .WS registry is releasing for the first time a limited number of 2 and 3 character domains to the public at onetime only premium fees. The Chinese domain market has ignited demand in .WS domains. In the past 3 months .WS registrations have increased by 1500%. “NameJet has done an outstanding job of tapping into the Chinese domain market, and we’re thrilled to be working with them,” said Alan Ezeir, President of Global Domains International.
These initial 22 names represent the first of several top tier .WS domains that will be offered exclusively through NameJet. All of these names are available for backorder now with the first auctions closing March 14, 2016.

I wonder how often the page at https://www.website.ws/premium is updated with the lists? Seems the numbers haven’t changed much for 4L and 5N categories. Does that mean its not updated, or the reg pace is slow? Good idea to keep it as up to date as possible, like .XYZ was doing.

Worth noting, news.ws was auctioned at NameJet for $1k last month.
What A Scam says
Do you people ever get tired of this nonsense .WS ? What Shit is that the acronym ? Every extension is geared to the Chinese buying them and eventually dropping them.

The registry is smart to get the high upfront premium, and then reg fee, once the Chinese go thru the renewal cyclone of all the crap .info .whatever they holding by the millions, they will wake up.
