DomainPros Buys 260 Five Digit Domains For $1M; $3,850 Per

November 13, 2015 by Michael Berkens

DomainPros.com announced today that it just acquired 260 five number domain names (NNNNN.com) for $1,000,000

That works out to just over $3,800 per domain name.

“Most of those 260 domains originally belonged to Marchex’s portfolio of 5 digit domains” which Godaddy bought from Marchex.

Back in April we announced that Godaddy paid $26.2 Million dollars for Marchex’s portfolio of over 200,000 domain names, however its not clear if Godaddy still owned the domain names that DomainPros.com acquired.

62.com has brokered the deal.

Two examples of the domain names included in DomainPros.com announcement are 21889.com and 36689.com.

Although we will assume these domain names are above average five digit domain names, we can also assume that DomainPros.om bought the domain names to make money so we can safely say that this should push the average NNNNN.com into the $5K plus range, that will in turn will increase the prices on all 6 digit domains that just recently sold out at the registry level.

Michael. The list I’ve seen that GD bought didn’t have these numerics. Did they buy those for sure from Marchex. I’ve seen a comment elsewhere saying that they did not.
