.Miami went live for General Availability (GA), where they could be registered on a first come, first served basis, on October 2nd.
.Miami did not have a landrush or an Early Access Program (EAP)
.Miami is being managed on behalf of the city of Miami by Minds + Machines which has premium registration and renewal domains as well as reserved domain names.
Godaddy has had a policy for all new gTLD launches, if more than 1 person pre-registers a domain name and they catch the domain, then the domain goes to auction.
Friday night those auctions closed out at Godaddy around 10PM EST (maybe not the best time for an auction to end but that’s another story).
I was involved in 30 auctions at Godaddy on .Miami.
All auction started at $10 (plus the cost of the registration fee).
Of the 30 auctions I was involved in 3 went into the four figures
The highest auction I saw was for Personalinjury.miami which closed at $2,650.
The other domain names that hit the 4 figures were:
medicalmarijuana.miami ($1,250)
welcometo.miami ($1,034)
Other auctions included:
accident.miami $720
startup.miami $697
comedy.miami $610
office.miami $525
cosmeticsurgery.miami $520
golfing.miai $370
livemusic.miami $371
accidents.miami $370
offices.miami $365
Of course I only have information on domain auctions I was involved and there may have been hundreds of others.

I was the one who got WelcomeTo.miami in auction. I also regged GoingTo.miami, Tour.miami, LifeInsurance.miami, MalpracticeAttorneys.miami, HotHotHot.miami, 8888.miami and a dozen more.
Michael Berkens says
Congrats Howard
Tour.miami was a premium no?

The .miami space is one I really like – it has excellent local and international appeal. I was able to get Business.miami, LuxuryHomes.miami, Foreclosures.miami, Waterfront.miami, and a few others.
@Michael – comedy.miami, offices.miami, and buying.miami are very good. Howard did quite well too.
Scott says
Exceptionally well done, Miguelito.

I personally have lots of nostalgic attachment to Miami and Miami Beach — some of it quite colorful and controversial (…is there really any other kind, when it comes to MIA! 🙂 — so, I couldn’t resist the temptation to “dabble” a bit in the .MIAMI rollout.
I acquired the following with absolutely no competition (to my considerable surprise, I hasten to add):
GOVT.miami
Agents.miami
HyperLocal.miami
Homeowners.miami

Morgan Linton says
Great early results for .MIAMI – nice picks @Howard, I really like Tour.miami! Based on the kind of traction we’ve seen with TLDs like .NYC and .London I can understand what Miami is getting so much positive attention early-on.

Wow some awesome domains you all have !
I’m just a small time Canadian domainer but am sure pumped that I can buy .Miami since its available for anyone to buy not like nyc
I was fortunate to secure 2 Geo domains:
MIAMIFLORIDA.Miami
MIAMIFL.Miami
I’m certainly regging more asap to hopefully capitalize on this fantastic opportunity.
Cheers!

.Miami according to namestats is now in 8th place of top 10 fastest growing gtlds for 7 day average as of today.
So I decided to add to portfolio a few others while available as I’m certain many more people will get turned on to this gtld in a short time span.
PORNOS. Miami
GOLFERS. Miami
