Symform, Inc. which was acquired by Quantum Corporation for $500,000 in 2014, registered 44 domain names at corporate domain name registrar MarkMonitor according to whois records yesterday, all relating to US presidential candidate Donald Trump in less than a flattering fashion.
Quantum Corporation is a publicly traded company on NYSE: QTM
Qauntum has a market cap of $207 Million. Both Symform and Quantum seem to be in the cloud storage business.
Donald Trump is a registered trademark
Trump is also a registered trademark
According to Verisign “Trump” was the 4th of the top 10 trending Keywords for .Com registrations for the month of August.
Some of the domain name registered yesterday refer to Trump as being a bully:
- TrumpBully.com
- DonaldTrumpBully.com
- DonaldBully.com
Several relate to “Insults”
- DonaldTrumpInsults.com
- DonaldTrumpInsultsRUS.com
In total, 44 domain names were registered by Daemon Le of Symform, Inc. whose parent company is Quantum Corporation according to Wikipedia. For some reason, many domain names are showing Roger Pies with a gmail email address rogerpies@gmail.com and I refresh the screen in DomainTools, then whois shows Symform, Inc. for some domains. Really odd.
Here is a whois screen shot of BullyTrump.com showing Symform Inc.
And showing Roger Pies prior:
None of the domains seem to be resolving as of publication.
Here are the 44 domain registrations:

Hyperbole is defined in the English dictionary as: exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
Trumperbole is a fictional term. As is Trumphony.
Is one a bully by calling another a bully?
The whois switching was something I have never seen before. An initial report I viewed on DomainTools shows all of the domain names registered under Symform, Inc. but doing a manual whois several hours later on several domains revealed the Roger Pies personal name with the domain being registered at MarkMonitor. Some whois history records are showing Symform, Inc. Upon doing a screen refresh in DomainTools whois, would then reveal Symform, Inc. sometimes and Roger Pies at other times.
Daemon Le according to his LinkedIn page, does state that he no longer works for Symform, Inc. I was not able to connect Roger Pies to Symform.
In general, it is not illegal to put up a “gripe site” using a trademarked term and use a domain name like BullyTrump.com which was registered or the Trump.org website I wrote about not that long ago. One may question 44 domain name registrations by a publicly traded company and also what will they be used for.

I wonder how QTM shareholders feel about executives using their money to purchase those domain names which clearly are for a personal political reason.
Jamie Zoch says
Rick,
I know how I would feel if a company I invested in was spending money on domain registrations like that and I wouldn’t be happy about it.

For the first time in my 50+ years as a registered voter, I am changing my registration from Independent to Republican just so I can cast my vote for Donald Trump. Trump is the ultimate anti-establishment candidate who will work hard to rid our great nation of the scourge called “illegal immigration” – this illegal alien problem is the preeminent issue facing America today and Trump is the ONLY candidate willing to stand-up for the citizens of America on this issue.
striker says
I should have said “cast my vote in the primary for Donald Trump”
Jerry says
I’m proud to have employed an illegal alien from Mexico as my housekeeper for the past 20 years. She has created a much better life for her and her family since coming the U.S. and, as one of her many clients who uses her once a week, I have felt my own lifestyle and quality of life improve significantly. I can go out and earn more and do more and not worry about spending hours cleaning my own home or washing my own clothes. As I earn more, I pay more in taxes to the federal government, who in turn, wastes it on ill-conceived wars and national social programs doomed to collapse by design. We all win!
Striker says
You should be in prison for knowingly hiring an illegal alien.
Bob says
Using the phrase “illegal alien” helps us to distance ourselves from recognizing Mexicans and other (Central) Americans as fellow human beings. We who live in the USA are so fortunate to live in a great nation. It’s the kindness of Fate that we don’t live in a poverty-stricken third-world country. Yes, we can secure our borders. But if we ever need to suddenly migrate south for some reason, I doubt that we’d want to be referred to as a scourge. If you feel Trump solves a preeminent problem, by all means vote for him. Meanwhile, give praise that you happen to live on this side of the tracks and have a heart for those who don’t.
In regards to the original post, even though Mr. Trump never grew out of being a middle school bully, I’d agree that a public company might spend its money in more constructive ways.
Striker says
There is nothing derogatory in my usage of the label “illegal alien”…I suggest you go read the definition. The only way these third-world hell holes will ever improve is if America stays strong by protecting our national identity and then projecting those qualities which make us exceptional to countries such as Mexico. Although we are far from perfect, America is the pinnacle of earthly achievement…something for all nations to aspire to.
SoFreeDomains says
There is no justification for a publicly quoted company to get involved in this type of political advances.
John Berryhill says
What, if anything, indicates these registrations were not authorized. Given how the subject has a juvenile meltdown every time someone criticizes him, do we know whether he had someone play the pointless game of “register all the bad domain names”?
John says
Smart move by the BOD their stock is down 6% today. Where do these people come from? This is why it’s a penny stock. What if Mr Trump becomes President? This entire BOD -if they did this-should resign.
Paul says
Jamie,
I saw this one last night, apparently Trump, QTM, and Yourself missed this one:

Some bloke is selling it.
