.XYZ Is Back Over 900,000 Registrations & Netsol Regs Once As High as 85% Are Under 15%

September 19, 2015 by Michael Berkens

Screen Shot 2015-09-19 at 8.09.59 AMThe new gTLD is back over the 900,000 domain mark in the zone file.

The first time the .XYZ new gTLD crossed the 900,000 domain registration mark was in May of 2015.  At that time the percentage  .XYZ domain names registered at NetworkSolutons.com was over 41%

The extension which had as many as over 1.13 million registrations according to https://ntldstats.com/tld/xyz, fell below 800K registrations as the “free” .XYZ domain names given to Network Solutions customers expired and started going through the delete cycle.

.XYZ has been on a tear once again registering over 9,000 domains, yesterday putting them back over 900,000 domain names in the zone according to RegistrarStats.com

.XYZ is the 7th most registered TLD extension after .com .net, .org, .info, .biz, and .us.

According to ntldstats.com the number of .XYZ domain names registered at NetworkSolutions.com, which once stood at over 350,000 and represented as high as 85% of all .XYZ registrations is now under 170,000 registrations which represent less than 15% of all .XYZ registrations.

Good news! We need to start Developing.xyz domain names and give them some credibility.

The Google’s abc.xyz definitely has a hand in this boost.

Because it’s cheap, registration cost below $2, it’s a prime choice for spammers, scammers, domainers and other speculators, but almost no end users.

Michael, just look at reported sales over $1,000, what do you see. Using Namebio, only 6 over $1,000, 1 over $10,000.

Nobody believes you, so why don’t you prove it ?
Do you have any sales to share so that we see the so called profit ?

            Dear Seb,

You should believe me. I sold 8 domains for 2k (I cant reveal the names, as agreed to the buyer, I sold the name to a domain investor and he has to make big profit from the names. I sold the names for cheap, only to get back my registration cost) Another name, one word .xyz sold for $3500 and the domain under escrow now. Hope I can inform you details after closing the sale. The name sold to an end user, a big company in US.

Also I received another 12 queries within last 10 days and I smell 2 more sales in the coming days.

We have to be positive and take risk, to win in any business. Here my cost is only $1.88 which is less than 20% of .com registration and less than 10% of other new gtld domain names. My total cost for 750 domains is less than $1500, I sold already for $2000, and another name under escrow for $3500. Also I believe there will be more big sales in the coming week.

I am not against .com or any other traditional tlds. I owned 100s of .com names, and kept for more than 8 years, but 99% of the names could not attract a single offer. Now I realize my mistake and dropped 90% of the names and kept balance 10% with me for development.

If I want to buy a .com name for $1500, what name I have to buy? May be only 1 domain name with below average 2 words or 3 word name. I can’t buy a 3L or 3N. Also If I buy a single name for $1500, there is no guarantee to resell it with profit.

But I could buy 750 .xyz domain names for $1500 and I already got profit. Still more than 11 months to sell the remaining names before the expiry date.

Now, there is good demand for .xyz names from all over the world. I got queries from US, China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Germany, UK and from India. Also for your information, I registered my 1st .xyz domain only after google news (most of them after August 20th). ie, within 1 month I got good profit and expecting bigger profit.
