A UDRP has been filed on the domain name Blackjack.com
According to the whois record the domain name backjack.com is owned by “Private Individual” of the UK.
The Complainant in the UDRP is not listed.
The domain name Blackjack.com is being used as a directory site for playing blackjack online along with other information about the game.
I found two trademark in the USPTO for the term “blackjack”. One trademark belongs to a Excel Industries, Inc. of Kansas for lawn mowers and was granted on April 21, 2014.
The other trademark belongs to Loveland Products, Inc for Fertilizers which was issued in January of this year.
However there are about 18 trademarks issued in the EU for the term blackjack.
Needless to say we will be watching this one

Well the address of the owner/s (or maybe a client of theirs using the address) is a Law Firm based in Uruguay so they should defend it I hope. http://www.hughes.com.uy

Just done bit more research and of course if this is litigated (outside of UDRP) it will be UK jurisidiction as both Registrar and Registrant are UK based. I am sure know who the person is but wont post it here .Good luck to him defending it.

One UDRP from a cuckoo’s nest, … or so it seems!
Interesting article.
I don’t see it coming from US soil. Certainly not from the lawn-mower-peeps who actually filed a 1B ‘Intend to use’ on April 21st .. ‘allowed’ on sept 2nd 2014.
With ‘The lawn mower peeps’ vs ‘BlackJack’ as an example, Would it even be possible for the ‘mowers’ to file a UDRP with only a 1B in their pocket?
