Since Domainincite.com has been putting out a few stories about the new gTLD .sucks leading up the hearing in Washington on Wednesday here, here and here, that the Internet Commerce Association’s own Phil Corwin will be testifying in front of, I thought I would point out some domain names that are not going to be available to be registered in the .sucks extension.
It’s not clear if the domain names are registered or if they are reserved or blocked off by the registry but none are available at 101domain.com, one of the few registrars that have been selling premium domains as of late as late week including ICANN.sucks for over $200K.
The .sucks registry has blocked or made unavailable .sucks domain names include the name of the .sucks registry, VoxPopuli who applied for to run the .sucks registry, the person who reportedly owns the registry Rob Hall of Momentous, the CEO fo the company, and the company who reportedly will be running the registry on a technical level and all their principles.
So those involved in .sucks should have sent me a thank you card for my post of last year when I said this registry is going to be a problem for ICANN and for the New gTLD program” and just changed their pricing plan.
However no thank you or Christmas card was ever received by myself from .Sucks, instead the message came back to me that the negative attention .sucks received was all my fault although I just reported the proposed pricing on their site.
According to 101domains, none of the following domains are available to be registered at any price”
RobHall.sucks
Rob.sucks
VoxPopuli.sucks
VoxPop.sucks
Berard.sucks (CEO)
Johnberard.sucks CEO)
Schilling.sucks
Uniregistry.sucks
FranksSchilling.sucks
Frank.sucks
As of the last check, Mike.sucks; Berkens.sucks; Mikeberkens.sucks and thedomains.sucks are not block and available to be registered
I’m not going to register any of those domain
For any haters out there feel free to go for it.
For the record a domain like Mothersday.sucks and Mothers.Sucks which could and should have been blocked or reserved by the registry are available.
One thing for sure Mothers.Sucks and MothersDay.Sucks sure do not
Happy Mothers Day to all.

These guys… I expect to comment on the upcoming JohnBerard.sucks site. As he confirmed at WorldTrademarkReview.com some time ago: “Our mission is to get the names in use and I come to this from the belief that a company with a trademark will derive value from managing its own ‘.sucks’ site.”

Hello Christopher Hofman,
You Sir are a Bald Faced Extortionist. How you can even present yourself as presentable for the benefit of the doubt is truly unbelievable. JAS 5/10/15

Jeff, congratulations on leaving yourself open for a lawsuit for Defamation of Character.
John says
Funny, just the other day another well known blogger and “domain investor” in the industry just couldn’t bear me challenging someone else for some very serious “defamation of character.” Go figure. 😀
janedoe says
The problem is your choice of words and target.
Use of the term extortionist is the key problem, especially when leveled at someone that can be publicly identified.
So you could throw the word at me and there would be no problem as far as defamation of character goes because I prefer to post anonymously and avoid linking to my real world identity.
However, if you have a tendency to defame people who appear to post publicly and it is that which leaves you open to being sued.
You can laugh all you want, but the point is that you do in fact leave yourself open to a very real penalty which could cost you a significant amount of cash even if it was to simply defend against such a case being brought against you.
John says
Jane, it would seem you may have used the wrong reply button to get your post under Schneider’s, and there is none left under you, so I’ll use what I can here. Anyway, on a serious note regarding this thread, although this should not be considered legal advice, nonetheless I do believe that quite frankly what Schneider has done here is really not true defamation of character at all, but rather mere statement of opinion using colorful rhetoric. What I addressed somewhere else and just jokingly alluded to here, however, was definitely a case of defamation of character if untrue, though I will not go into that here. So in the case here, however, Schneider might as well have said “You are a two-headed beast.” Use of the term “extortionist” in this context is really a statement of opinion through use of a metaphor, not a case of Schneider claiming that the target of his opinion has engaged in a genuine act or acts of extortion. As such, it would be very bad to try to stifle this kind of free expression, which is what American society is supposed to be about when one ideological or political faction or another isn’t trying to stifle it.
So while I have nothing to do with Mr. Schneider and he has nothing to do with me, and we might tend to disagree on various things, nonetheless all this talk of lawsuit and defamation is really unwarranted in this case.

Seriously speaking, I agree with you that the .sucks extension will give ICANN a lot of problems but I still believe that the gTLD has its good use, e.g, drugabuse.sucks. It depends on the way we look at it.
Jeff Schneider says
Hello Sofreedomains,
Yes we agree with you, .SUCKS is an extremely efficient accesory to extortion.
