Qatar Airways has Filed a UDRP to get control of the domain name DiscoverQatar.com which seems about generic as it gets to us.
The domain name was first registered in 2000 and seems to have been control by the same owner based on DomainTools.com address linked to the domain since at least 2012.
The domain name appears to have been parked according to Screenshots.com for at least 10 years or so.
In 2013 the Airlines launched a service called Discover Qatar “that allows passengers flying with Qatar to apply for tourist visas to Qatar and they even have a section of their website dedicated to the program
Nice for them.
Qatar is not a strapped cash third world country but the richest on earth per capita and the host to the 2022 World Cup.

The airline operates in over 140 international destinations across Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Far East, South Asia, Middle East, North America, South America and Oceania fusing a fleet of more than 100 aircraft.
Qatar Airways Group employs more than 31,000 people, of which 19,000 work directly for Qatar Airways
Really guys
Hope for a Reverse Domain Name Hijacking finding and if you own the domain don’t think about selling it for anything not into the six figures.

I see a problem in the whois record for this domain. It does NOT details any real Registrant ,at all. Am I wrong ?
“Domain Admin” is not a name ?.
Louis says
@JohnUK: Is there a regulation or law somewhere that says Whois needs to have an actual name? Can’t it simply say “Domain Admin”? What about a company concerned with high turnover?
@Michael: You are being kind to say 6 figures. I vote for 8-10.
@All: Laches?
JohnUK says
@Michael Don’t get me wrong ,I am with the Respondent all the way on this UDRP. The arabs are notoriously tight with their money and clearly rather than opne the wallets and let the moths out they prefer to try and get things for free. Not nice. And yes, it could be “fred bloggs trading as “domain admin” ,and under UK laws Yes could just put “domain admin” . Of course people will look a bit askance but it is 100% legal.

Perhaps their attorney is not well versed in the laws that govern the internet. Good one for the registrant (6 figures for sure).
