eMarketer.com has put out a research paper on the new gtlds titled, “The Domain Name Explosion: Hundreds of New Choices Beyond .com Mean New Marketing Considerations”
This report was a paid report, as I called the company about referencing it they also included it in the newsletter section which is available to everyone.(thank you Priscilla) The report draws on data from the Domain Name Association and ntldstats as well as a few others.

Through the course of 2015, domain options will grow exponentially. More than 1,300 new domains are being phased in. I really don’t believe 25% of internet users are aware of the existence of new TLD’s. Maybe 5%, 10% tops.

No one wants the gtlds to fail. But they will fail, not because of anyone’s ill will but instead because they are all stupid. And expensive. And too long. And no demand. Stupid, expensive, too long and no demand is a toxic combination. This boat just aint gonna float.

The art of deception is a very nuanced maze that is hard to discern, much as an enigma is, The ending signal as to the real plan is very hard to discern. The big picture is that Google has some of the premier Think tank participants. The web is deep and hard to discern, long story short Google is pushing the new gTLD initiative for their many Ad Men to prolong a chain of events to maintain their grip on Ad men and their unsuspecting Ad participants .
