I have been doing these Domain Movers lists for awhile and they never get old! Never! They are packed with valuable and always interesting domain name data watching what companies are buying, registering and selling their domain name assets. Having an “insiders” look at potential “news” like new brands and products is always cool! As always, a TON of time goes into these articles and this dedication is to help all domain name investors and the domain industry as a whole. Here we go with the latest:
Guthy-Renker LLC has registered several “class action lawsuit” domain names, with several of its brand names. Some of these domain names include: CrepEraseClassAction.com, CrepEraseLawsuit.com, GuthyRenkerClassAction.com, GuthyRenkerLawsuit.com, MeaningfulBeautyClassAction.com, MeaningfulBeautyLawsuit.com, ProactiveClassAction.com, ProactiveLasuit.com, WenClassAction.com, WenLawsuit.com, XoutClassAction.com, and XoutLawsuit.com
White-Rodgers (Emerson) is taking the generic keyword approach at a product similar to Nest and has registered WifiConnectedThermostat.com, WifiConnectedThermostats.com, WifiEnabledThermostats.com and WifiProgrammableThermostats.com
Rational Intellectual Holdings Limited has acquired the domain name WinOnline.com with the help of Comlaude from Hillbeck Trading Ltd according to whois records.
Frito-Lay North America, Inc. has registered the domain names ForwardSnacks.com, FwdSnacks.com, MightyMPoweredSnacks.com, MightyMPowerSnacks.com, MPowerSnacks.com, PopWorksAndCompany.com, RedrockDeli.com and SnacksToYourDesk.com
Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation has registered the domain name IntimateEnemies.com
Due.com has been reported sold at Flippa.com for $130,000. The domain has changed whois registrants from Webucast, LLC to Adogy and a John Rampton. John is a entrepreneur, investor and influencer according to his website JohnRampton.com. Very nice domain name with a little bit of a radio test problem! Due “sounds like” Do…
Discovery Communications Europe Limited has registered the domain name DiscoveryThinkTank.com
GMR Marketing LLC has acquired the domain name BankBall.com from HugeDomains.com. The domain had a listing price of $1,994.
Microsoft continues its “jackrabbit” domain registrations with JackrabbitJS.com and .net
Ford.com has taken a virtual road trip and has transferred to a new domain name registrar and corporate domain management from MarkMonitor to CSC Corporate Domains. Ford owns over 6,000 domain names so this would be a big win for CSC if they were to get all of Ford’s domains and it appears many more domains have been transferring to CSC from MarkMonitor. I checked several high profile Ford domains and the ones I checked still remain with MarkMonitor at this point. FordFinancial.com is another domain to move from MarkMonitor to CSC. It appears around 10 domains a day have been moving between the registrars.
GoingToTheGame.com has been grabbed on the drop by Pheenix.com on 1/10/2015 and MarkMonitor Inc. used the service to obtain the domain name for a currently unknown client. Foot Locker Retail, Inc., also a MarkMonitor client happens to own GoingToTheGame.net, .org and .biz. One would expect that Foot Locker is the client MarkMonitor secured the GoingToTheGame.com domain for.
E Entertainment Television, LLC has acquired the domain name GolfPay.com from HugeDomains.com. The domain name was listed for $1,795 and was registered on September 15, 2010. I was a little taken back by who the buyers of this domain was but they must have a plan for it. E! covers celebrity gossip.
Saks Incorporated which was acquired by Hudson Bay Company on July 29, 2013 for $2.9 Billion had the domain name Zellers.com change registrant owners from Hudson Bay TO Saks… so the opposite of the acquisition. Saks Incorporated owns about 600 domain names according to whois records on DomainTools.com. HBC uses MarkMonitor and its domain name services and Zellers.com transferred in from Tucows. Zellers.com redirects to HBC.com!
Nylas.com which I had reported sold for $1,499 back on March 25, 2015 is now active and resolving to a website with the logo and text stating Nilas. Nylas.com and Nilas.com are mirrored sites. Nilas was previously known as InboxApp.
This made me look into Nilas.com, which MarkMonitor assisted in acquiring for the new company on 12/23/2014 from a Nilas Jensen. Nilas has raised about $10 Million in funding, with $8 Million of that coming in around January 2015. Nilas launched in 2014 and was a wise move on behalf of the company to purchase Nylas.com to cover bases for those that type a y instead of an i. Nilas states that it’s “The Future Of Email”.
Swappable.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain name was registered on March 1, 2003. Swappable.net was registered on 1/28/2015 at Google Domains to note.
Truvee.com has also been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. Truvee was owned by HugeDomains.com and had a listing price of $3,095. The domain was registered on August 11, 2012. There is a new wine recently launched with the name Truvee but it is not confirmed they are connected.
Superix.com which sold recently at Sedo, was acquired by CSC Corporate Domains for a “Chris Rock” of Superix. The domain is resolving to a coming soon fitness brand landing page. The domain name was purchased for $3,000.
CBR.com has been acquired by Comic Book Resources from FMA (Future Media Architects) for a currently unknown price.
Dropbox Inc. which was announced on 4/3/2015 “Project Composer” by several tech sites that they were testing an online note-taking service… has registered the domain names DropboxNote.com and DropboxNotes.com
NFL has become the owners of the domain name Gmen.com from SMAC Entertainment according to whois records. SMAC is a Los Angeles based talent management company and did have a website on the domain name offering GMEN Gear with Michael Strahan featured on the site. Michael is a owner of SMAC. Gmen.com now redirects to Giants.com, the NFL team. It is unknown how the NFL has secured the domain name. (Legal or Financially) I reached out to SMAC for comment but have not heard back at time of publishing. Michael Strahan’s official Twitter page still displays the Gmen.com domain.
Instagram LLC. has registered the domain name InstagramCraft.com. Instagram is owned by Facebook.
CitiAmazon.com has transferred ownership from Amazon Technologies Inc. to Winston & Strawn LLP which is a law firm. The domain name was registered on 8/25/2013 by a Nuno Andrade at GoDaddy. By 10/11/2013 Amazon shows up in whois and by 12/13/2013 the domain transferred to MarkMonitor.
Telepathy Inc. who is a large domain portfolio owner has sold the domain name Properly.com. The domain is resolving to a basic web page with a title of “21st Century Letting Agency” but the domain is under whois privacy.
Telepathy also purchased the domain name Recruitment.com from Andy Booth.
Between Holding B.V. has acquired the domain name Between.com from Telepathy Inc. According to whois records, the transaction took place on 11/20/2014.
AbbVie Inc. has acquired the domain name Colitis.com with the help of MarkMonitor. I detected the potential sale of the domain name on January 10, 2015 and AbbVie Inc. is now showing in whois as the registrant. Abbott has a popular drug called Humira which was approved by the FDA for use with Ulcerative Colitis. Reflex Publishing Inc. were the sellers.
eStore.com has been sold by Calpian Commerce Inc. at Sedo for a currently unknown sales price. The domain was a full website at the time of the sale but was not included. The buyers are DCJ Corporation who are located in India.
The famous Sahar Sarid (domain investor, always happy, all around nice guy) has been busy posting interesting domain findings on his Facebook page and announced several domain movers which included the sale of 77.com which he noticed. The buyers are currently unknown and it was stated the sales price would not be announced directly on the domain. I spoke to Anton and he confirmed the sale. Sahar also mentioned VeraDocs which is a startup, has acquired the domain name Vera.com which took place on 2/23/2015 but the company just recently went public and announced the broader new name because they do more than just secure “docs”.
Sahar also brought attention to Blue.com which he thought may have been sold. I researched things more and it appears that Blue.com and Monday.com may have been stolen? The good news is, both domain names appear in whois to have been returned to the long time owners not that long after being transferred out and put under privacy. Both domains were transferred out of Domain.com and put under privacy and shortly after being transferred out transferred back to Domain.com. I have reached out for confirmation on this but have not heard back yet at time of posting.

Any idea why companies are generally moving from MarkMonitor to CSC? From what I have observed, MarkMonitor appears to be more competent at domain security (they actually apply registrar locks) and more difficult to get an account with.
Jamie Zoch says
I’m not sure Peter as I do not have a specific answer. Better marketing, better service, better pricing… could be endless reasons really but a lot of companies actually use both services.

Due only sounds like Do because Americans are too lazy to pronounce a 3 letter word properly.
