According to a press release out today, TurnCommerce Inc., operators of NameBright.com (an ICANN accredited domain name registrar), HugeDomains.com (a domain name aftermarket), and DropCatch.com (a domain back-order service) announced the launch of Expire.com, a Dutch-style auction service that will sell between 15 and 30 premium domain names per day on a first-come first-served basis.
A Dutch auction is a type of auction where the initial price starts off at a pre-determined amount and is lowered until a bidder accepts the current price.
Expire.com will list valuable domain names at $500, and the price will be lowered by $100 each subsequent day if it does not receive a bid.
After an auction starts for $500, and if it does not sell, it will drop in price to $400 on the second day, $300 the third day, $200 the fourth day and $100 on the final day before the auction ‘expires’.
“Initial inventory of domains will be provided by HugeDomains, which include many high value domain names and are expected to sell quickly.”
“Andrew Reberry, co-founder of TurnCommerce, Inc., said, “Many domain investors will find some outstanding deals on the Expire.com platform, but you will have to act fast to win these highly sought-after domains.”
Expire.com was suppose to launch at 4pm EST today but at the moment the service is offline.

Too bad, the website is down with a technical error message.

The names are beyond junk, they would not sell if they take out a zero off the price.

I disagree. I look at sales all day long and see four, five and six figure sales all the time for domains that I wouldn’t even register… which clearly make me rethink my strategy, because people think differently than I do and for domain investors, this is a great thing! HugeDomains sells domains like they are listing on Expire.com ALL DAY LONG for $1,300-$5K.
Give them credit, they are trying something new. If it works, it works.. if not, I’m sure they will pull the plug but you have to give them credit for what they have done. They are the largest single holder of domain names in the world and that is no small task!

I agree. There are names on there that have obvious end user potential. These are not going to be traffic names and not going to all be top tier; however, I think some of these would be punt worthy at $100.
I have a hard time rationalizing the sentiment towards Andrew
On the one hand everyone complains he take all the backorders people have setup.
On the other everyone says he registers nothing but crap and is selling garbage.
Which is it? I guess the seasoned pros would have us believe the first group are all overzealous n0obz
I like the platform.

i guess reberry realized he can’t stockpile domains like he has been. i’d imagine he keeps all the good stuff and whats left on expire.com will be scraps.

not a bad idea, I see 1 domain I like.
Michael Berkens says
I see that two domains have sold one at the $300 level and another at the $100 level
