2015 marks the 30th anniversary of .Com and I’m proud have been asked to judge Verisign’s #InternetOfficial .Com Domain Name Contest which will be awarding over $100,000 in cash prizes.
Here are some details:
Make your idea #InternetOfficial.
Come up with the most descriptive, memorable and original .COM domain name(s) you can imagine—and register it!
Submit your registered .COM domain name(s) with a brief explanation of why yours is the greatest thing since sliced e-bread
Here is where you can submit your entry.
Promote your entry through your social networks.
A panel of judges, including myself, along with the public’s votes will determine the five best domain names registered each month during the contest period.
The contest’s five monthly finalists, that’s 15 finalists in three months, will each receive $5,000 AND have the opportunity to compete for the grand prize of $30,000!.
Monthly winners can submit a video to be eligible to proceed to the final round for a chance to win the Grand Prize of $30,000 cash!!
So Verisign is giving away 15 prizes of $5K each over three month and a grand prize of $30,000 so over $100,000 in prizes and it all starts “by registering the perfect .COM domain.”
As for my involvement, Verisign reached out to me to see if I would be willing to be a judge in the contest.
My understanding is that I’m the only judge from what we would call the domaining space.
I registered my first domain in 1997 and have been a full time domain investor since 1999.
Its a great honor to have been asked and to be named a judge in a contest to celebrate the 30th anniversary of .Com.
The contest is only open to residents of the United States.

Very nice idea!
However, it should have organized for whole world, not just for US citizens imo.
