According to a press release out today KV Spirits LLC has purchased the domain name KorsVodka.com, for $750,000
“Made from the same old recipe that was enjoyed by the Royals over a century ago, Kors is known as being the most exclusive, handmade, limited edition Vodka, and is priced up to $24,500 per bottle.”
Vodka.com was sold for $3 Million dollars by legendary domain name investor Roy Messer.
“It’s certainly worth mentioning as a record-breaker of its own.” Harris adds that the dynamic sale was confirmed by several sources including the representatives of new owner KV Spirits and BH Escrow company who handled the transaction from an undisclosed seller.”
“KV Spirits LLC, a representative of Kors Vodka, reports sales to notables such as athletes, rappers, celebrities and business professionals with discriminating taste. Known as the “Tsar’s Vodka” due to it being distilled using the same century old recipe made for the Russian Tsar Nicholas II and King George V of England, the drink is unsurpassed. Made using an extraordinary diamond distillation process that includes water from Italian Alps running through real gold distillation tubes Kors Vodka becomes a forerunner in the industry.
An experience all its own the vodka is stored in a luxurious presentation.
Kors Vodka comes in a handmade crystal bottle with 24 karat gold decorations embellishing what is already a lovely showpiece in and of itself.”

The KorsVodka domain was first registered on October 25, 2012 by Mitja Krzisnik. Mitja is the cofounder of the brand Kors Vodka. So explain to me how he sold his domain back to himself for $750,000? PR stunt if you ask me.

Ya, they got to be lying. no way it would worth that much. Maybe an owner found a way to cash out out of the brand without selling his shares. Hey look, we get PR and i get the money! win win thinking. or Just PR either way no one would buy it for fraction of that money.

if true, it would be cheaper to open an UDRP! 😀
Michael Berkens says
The domain may have been registered before the $24,500 bottle brand was launched
Acro says
I read it on the Internets, it must be true. 😀
No source of the sale other than a PR by a “Domain Anarchist”.

Probably a smart (and profitable) domain transfer to the company and some pr on the side… common practice these days.
Acro says
Since when is it ‘common practice’ to tell porkies about a domain sale via a PR ?

As I commented in details in the morning of Oct 14, when the news came out (see here: http://www.tntnames.com/blog/kv-spirits-llc-pays-750000-for-korsvodka-com-domain-watchdog-websites-report.html), it’s the “bogus sale of the year” … LOL! 😀
And the guys from Slovenia visited our site after that ;).
Andrew Lipstein says
You nailed it Andrea. Good investigative reporting. Now what about Kors.vodka?
Andrea Paladini says
Kors.vodka is not even registered.

A domain price hiking strategy, is it? May be others have also been trying this in the industry. This makes all the big transactions in domain industry suspicious.
