Two new gTLD’s launched this week for the German city known as Cologne and also Koeln depending on the language you speak.
The two new Geographic domains combined for just over 14,000 registrations.
Cologne is the 4th largest city in Germany and has a population of just over one million people.
Cologne had 4.31 million overnight stays booked and 2.38 million arrivals in 2008 which is the most recent data wikipedia.org has.
The registry for these two extensions is: “NetCologne Gesellschaft für Telekommunikation mbH”.

By Comparison the other new gTLD’s for German cities, .Hamburg has over 16,500 registrations and .Berlin has over 140,000 registrations although 70,000 of those were given away for free placing those two in the top 23 of all launched new gTLD’s.
.Koeln is 35 in terms of numbers of domain names registered and .Cologne is 126.
