Several new gTLD went into general availability yesterday and here are the total number of domain registrations including those domains registered in Sunrise by trademark holders and in any landrush or Early Access Program (EAP) which allows registrants to pay an additional fee for early access to new domains.
.Hamburg had by far the biggest new gTLD 1st day total in a many months winding up with 13,737 registrations landing it in 26th place for all new gTLD’s.
.Discount finished its first day of general availability with 1,819 domain names
.Fitness has 1,271 (the will be a .fit as well)
.Furniture 605 domain names registered and
.Schule just 373 (German word for School)
The biggest gainer of any new gTLD yesterday was .London which shot up to 15,300 registrations. However .London does not go into general availability until September 9th.
.London is now in 23rd place
DomainMonster part of the Host Europe Group is the largest registrar of .London domains with over 62% of all registrations with Tucows.com coming in second with over 21% of all registrations.
Those are the only two registrars that registered more than 1,000 .London domain names.
Two other new gTLD’s had their first day of general availability earlier this week with .Black winding up day one with 156 registrations and .HIV winding up with 153.
.Black is now up to 212 registrations while .HIV actually has less domain names in its zone file, than it did after its first day.
.HIV is now down to 127 domains.
