Four new gTLD’s went into general availability yesterday, meaning domain names could be registered on a first come first served basis.
Including domain names registered during the Sunrise period for trademark holders and in the Early Access Program (EAP) where people paid a higher fee to get early access to domain registrations here are the totals after the first day of GA according to ntldstats.com
.Dental 1,971
.Clinic 1,447
.Care 1,395
.Surgery 534
So we are looking at a total of just over 5,000 domain registrations for the four new extensions.
.Dental which got the most registrations only makes it to 127 in terms of domain names registered of all new gTLD strings that have fully launched.
All of the extensions are owned by Donuts.
The total number of new gTLD registrations are 1,875,612, again according to ntldstats.com.

To a spectator/observer like me, it is more interesting to see the top3 (club, guru, wang) racing although it’s a minor league.

Correct: good domains go first. In .com they are long long gone. New TLDs have a long long way to go. Talk to me when new TLDs have a 100K to 1M names each (1/1000th .com’s size).””
Although i bought 13 .care i have a feeling he/me/us will not have a chance to talk to you Paul, not in our life time anyway.
