According to ntldstats.com, .Bar had a respectable showing ended its first day of General Availability, with 2,464 .Rest not so much ending with 307 domain names.
Remember .Bar is priced on the high side at $99,95 on Godaddy.
.Bar is now the 100th most registered mew gTLD, while .Rest lands in the 153rd most registered new gTLD’s or the 6th worse new gTLD that is in GA.
Both totals included Sunrise domain registrations.
It seemed like .Bar reserved a lot of domain names,I had a list of about 50 domains and wound up with almost none including; Gold.bar, Silver.bar, Cigar.Bar, Nude.Bar, Wine.Bar, Tool.Bar Beauty.Bar, Gay.Bar, Lesbian.Bar , Mini.Bar, Martini.Bar, Sport.Bar, Candy.Bar Chocolate.Bar, Protein.Bar and mostly every major Geo.
So what got registered? It seems off hand there were a lot of German registrants of .Bar domains.

Kevin Murphy says
I make it 1,219 for .bar.
NameStats says
Yep 1,219 for .bar and .rest on 307
Michael Berkens says
Kevin
Just being consistent I have always used nstats for the numbers and they are showing:
100. GA .bar Punto 2012 Sociedad Anonima Promotora de Inversion de Capital Variable CentralNic 2,464 0.16%
John McCormac says
1219 on .BAR and 307 on .REST. Those figures are from this morning’s zonefiles which effectively cover yesterday. Took another look at the .BAR zonefile just to make sure. The 2464 is too close to double the 1219 count. There is DNSSEC data in the zonefile but it is not much. The zonefile does not seem to have many, at a glance bad/dodgy nameservers either.
John McCormac says
On ntldstats’ page for .BAR, ( http://ntldstats.com/tld/bar ), the domain count is 1232. The 2464 figure quoted in the /tld/ page is exactly double this number. It may be a double counting glitch. Did anyone reach out to ntldstats for confirmation?
ontheinterweb says
John, whats it like having the most boring, mundane job in the world?
im just kidding. im sure counting numbers from zone files is riveting stuff.
John McCormac says
It can be boring but I do a lot more that just count the domains. 🙂 Besides, the programs and the databases count the domains. It iis only when things go wrong that I have to count manually or look at zonefiles. The non-boring part is the web usage and development surveys and watching new TLDs spring to life as people begin to use them.
JBLions says
Did it update? I’m seeing bar at 2,836- http://ntldstats.com/tld/bar
On the main new gtld page they have bar at 55 with 5,672 domains – http://ntldstats.com/tld
which is exactly double.
Says 56% of them are registry reserved.
