NYLON Media Inc. which was founded in 1999 and was using Nylonmag.com,announced today it acquired and switched its website to NYLON.com after purchasing the domain name for $225,000
According to a press release out today, “Owning NYLON.com is the first step in a series of digital innovations we plan to introduce to evolve our growing online, social and mobile presence,” said NYLON Media EVP of Digital, Daniel Saynt.
“NYLON is what’s new, what’s next, what’s fresh in music, fashion, beauty and pop culture, reaching millions of millennial women every month. We’re investing heavily in our digital offering, adding to our staff, and increasing our online exclusive content to stay in step with our fans media-centric lifestyle,” said NYLON Editor-in-Chief Michelle Lee.
“According to public records, the $225,000 purchase price of the NYLON.com domain appears to set a record for the highest ever paid for a media domain name. The purchase represents the significant investment NYLON Media Inc.’s new management team — backed by Los Angeles-based investor Marc Luzzatto and his Diversis Capital partners — has committed to the NYLON brand.”

Great move by them. Definitely worth the price. And I see that the estibot value for nylon.com is $6900.

Nice move. Also, have seen a nice name on Flippa recently, quite affordable: “m.ag”.

estibot is the longest running joke in the domain world. people should simply ignore it and pretend it doesnt exist. quoting prices from it is as ridiculous as asking a 2 year old to price things, who cares what estibot says or if domainers pay attention to it. its dumb.

Your usual advice about Estibot reflects our agreement, you are actually right for once. Estibot is an inside joke in the Marketing savvy partipants camp. you are finally learning we see.

Jeff, im really having a hard time believing you’re a real person and not some “character.” btw, who is “we”… do you have a mouse in your pocket or schizophrenia?
when you used to sign with just (metal tiger) that was one thing… now i see you added (domain master)… thats so over the top you’re gonna give yourself away. if the stuff you normally write is really your opinion and you’re not playing a character you need some help man. but im pretty sure this is just a troll character… adding domain master to the signature is really pushing the believability.
