According to a press release out this morning by the .Me registry, the largest Lost & Found Company in the World has switched their domain name from ReturnMoi.com to Return.Me
“ReturnMoi was our original company name.”
“Due to our international success and growth we decided this year to change our name to ReturnMe.
“After looking at many domain name options and setting up a focus group we decided to get the .ME domain as it was a perfect fit with our new name”, says Suhail Niazi, the CEO and founder of the company. ”In order to better identify with our new corporate identity and to make it easy for our clients and users to reach out to us, our website will also reflect this change of name, as we can now be found online at http://www.return.me.”
Our new logo, web site URL and refreshed marketing materials are only one part of our rebranding process. We have a new corporate culture and .ME is a perfect domain for ReturnMe going forward”.
ReturnMoi was founded in 2007 to help address the problem of valuable portable items being lost.
The company “has produced millions of recovery tags protecting hundreds of thousands of customers from around the world.
“Recovery tags have been designed to fit virtually any valuables such as keys, luggage, cell phones, wallets, laptops, sports equipment and even cats & dogs.”
Predrag Lesic, the CEO of the .ME Registry adds: ”When we drafted the .ME Premium Domain Program our intention was to make our most attractive domains accessible to businesses that can utilize the .ME extension to send a catchy marketing message in the very address of the website. We truly believe that the .ME helps brand owners connect with their customers on a more personal level. Therefore, it is always exciting to see companies like ReturnMoi (now ReturnMe) taking full advantage of this unique ability of .ME domains”.

There was/is a company using ReturnMe .com for a number of years. Apparently, they marketed animal tag for many years. They abandoned their TM in 2012.
This guy from Montreal came up with a brilliant idea (lol) in 2007. I suspect he saw ReturnMe and copied his idea and expanded on it. His main attribute is his marketing ability. And, ReturnMe LLC apparently lacked that skill.
I guess it was cheaper to buy Return .me than ReturnMe .com .
An aggressive marketer should buy ReturnMe .com LLC and eat his lunch.

Hope they stick with Return.me. And show people dot com isn’t needed.

Why would they want to leave ReturnMe.com up for grabs? To prove they can run their race hopping on one leg?
They’re out there trying to succeed as a business — not prove points for the domain industry!
I hope they buy the .COM and forward it to Return.me without masking. That’s the sensible choice.

Sooner or later some company has to step up and not use a dot com !
Joseph Peterson says
@Edward,
Plenty of companies have been doing that for years:
PHP.net
Wikipedia.org
Join.me
In the last 2 cases, they found that having the .COM forwarding to their website was worthwhile.
Do they “need” to give away their .COMs?

Returnmoi put it’s entire business at complete risk by not acquiring the returnme.com domain. This will be a great case study. Returnme.com is a great name and the risk of confusion is very clear if taken by another competitor or new company looking for an easy window to join this space and compete. Not the best or decisions but .ME names are getting more known.
