A few interesting UDRP filed today.
Web Entertainment, LLC filed a UDRP on the domain name y8.net
Y8.net is a gaming site, so is Y8.com which is owned under privacy.
UDRP filed on Two character domain names are pretty rare so we will keep on our eye on this one.
ON another note if your a fan of the HBO series Entourage you may know that they started the filming of the Entourage movie last month, and today a UDRP was filed on two domain names, EntourageMovie.com and EntourageFilm.com
EntourageMovie.com was registered back in 2009 and however the same person just registered the domain EntourageFilm.com in 2013.
I’m sure super agent Ari Gold could have worked out a deal on these domains with a couple of phone calls.
Interestedly doing a quick check the domain names EntourageDvd.com, EntourageVideo.com and EntouragetheMovie.com, are not owned by anyone related to the show or HBO.
EntourageDvds.com and EntourageVideos.com and are not even registered.
Another fail by the brand protection guys.
We will keep our eye on all of these

you think they would have come up with a name / brand that can be more easily spelled

The Y8.net domain was held from 2011 until recently by somebody in Pakistan. It had more than a few owners before that since it was first registered in 1999. However, within the last 30 days it has now changed to somebody new in the UK.
Y8.com has a TM on both the terms Y8 and Y8.com, registered in 2012
Sucks to see a 2 character name go this way, but this one’s a loser for the holder of Y8.net, especially as they are trading in the same category as the TM (Games).

@Brian
If you’re talking about “Entourage”, that’s simply the name of the series on HBO, so there’s not much they can do about that. Great series by the way, as are many of the shows the premium channels have offered. (Deadwood, Rome, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, etc.) After watching them it’s hard to go back to the mostly PG-13 rated fare offered on the regular networks.

Yes Grim –
My point is that anybody that names a series that is difficult to spell in the first place probably out to be spanked first before deciding to go after a domain that no one can spell correctly in the first placeb

Looking at the Y8 UDRP. I do see that, as someone else stated, they do have trade marks and one of those is a CTM that covers the UK where the owner of the respondent domain resides. I cannot see a get out for Respondent on this one UNLESS they can miraculously show trading prior to Complainants TM.
