The world’s third largest auction house Heritage Auctions is holding its inaugural Domain Name & Intellectual Property Auctionun on November 21st in New York and some great domain names are up for sale including MutualFunds.com; Animation.com, QR.com, NL.com and Bicycle.com
Other highlights in the auction include, but are not limited to: Numismatics.com, Alexandria.com, Suit.com, Tie.com, Sociology.com, LuxuryBags.com; EqualRights.com and CurrencyExchange.com.
This Auction will mark the first time a major, mainstream auction house has ventured into Intellectual Property
“Millions of dollars of Domain Names are traded every single month that the public isn’t aware of,” said Aron Meystedt, the Founder and Director of the Domain Names & Intellectual Property category at Heritage. “Now, for the first time, the broader public is going to have the opportunity to experience the market firsthand. Digital assets offer a global opportunity unlike any other to the right buyer or business; they offer a different kind of asset and a different way to think about collecting overall.”
“Domain names are purely digital, have virtually zero carrying costs and they offer the ability to generate passive revenue while you hold them,” said Meystedt. “This is digital Real Estate. It’s an investment that will never need a new foundation or a new roof but will remain evergreen in the eyes of buyers and sellers, especially if you are lucky enough right now to get your hands on a one or two word or letter dot-com, which are the gold standard when it comes to these investments.”
Heritage Auctions is the largest auction house founded in the United States and the world’s third largest, with annual sales of more than $800 million, and 800,000+ online bidder members. he seems like he’s got a serious bunch of names. now if he’s got any bidders willing to pay more than 10% of value he may have something here.

Some of these domains have been auctioned before, so it’ll be interesting to see if the new venue makes any difference to the final outcome.

It won’t George..
Why should it…?
If somebody wanted MutualFunds.com they would go straight to the source, don’t you think?.
it’s more show/entertainment than anything else…

Domo: “it’s more show/entertainment than anything else…”
Yeah, and that is why this could be really important.
Heritage is not a domainer auction house. They sell to collectors. Domain investing is closely related to collecting, as Heritage seems to recognize.
A huge new market there. Just as the PR begins to sell new gTLDs to the little guys, HA.com sells “gold standard” coms to the wealthy.
