And they ‘predicate with the example’ by using a DOT COM and furthermore by buying another DOT COM :
CCR.com from N Cohen.
do as I say …don’t do as I do…
go figure!
Domenclature.com says
Domo,
I don’t expect Berkens to point that out. He has been pushing this new gtld under and over the radar.
A balanced report would have honed in on those points.
Domo Sapiens says
learn to read, he copied and pasted some information from the horse’s mouth…
I honestly believe M.B has posted a balanced unbiased mix of good and bad news and allow commentaries from both sides of the alley… at the end of the day is his blog he can promote whatever he wants anyhow I think any of the new gTLD promoters preaching to domainers are barking at the wrong tree…
Domenclature.com says
Domo,
Balanced reporting is not something you achieve, and you’re done with it; in essence, it is not inherent. You could be historically unbiased, and boom, with your next piece, you are all of a sudden biased.
Besides, not reporting something, is equally as egregious as reporting something wrong. Berkens is not the worst, granted.
But pointing out that it is his blog, and that should be a reason not to scrutinize his blog, is silly.
If he doesn’t allow for constructive criticism, I will stop visiting his blog.

Have I ever deleted a comment of your’s?
I don’t think so
So I don’t know what your talking about when you say “If he doesn’t allow for constructive criticism”
I allow not only constructive criticism but criticism in general even if it makes little or no sense.
In almost 6 years the I have only removed a handful of comments that were not suitable for publication and only blocked two people who insisted on posting 100 comments a day.
I rarely jump back into the comments and start debating people, I have my say in the post and you can have your say in the comments.
As far as this post goes “balanced reporting” of a new registries website should have included what in your opinion, the fact that they are using a .com address instead of a .biz address?
Domo Sapiens says
Michael…wrong guy! read my post 🙂
Michael Berkens says
Domo Sorry
Domo Sapiens says
No worries.

Domainer guys should take it easy on Mike. You should know he has more to lose in New gTLD success than to gain. With ROTD he’s just hedging. He realistically sees the winds of change and just reports the news. Just because he’s not a gTLD hater doesn’t mean he’s promoting them.
What baffles me is that Schwartz and Mann can’t see the opportunity on both sides, maybe they do and are just not telling anyone.
If you’re not making any adjustments and stand totally firm on ‘.com is the only one on the shelf’ -not playing both sides. .
well, that’s just stupid
Tom Gilles says
I would add that I don’t think anyone in the industry is really going to lose here. Enormous amounts of attention is about to be rained down on this industry.
Michael Berkens says
Tom
Thanks
You got it correct
