Domain investor and new gTLD applicant Daniel Negari has opened up a store to sell some gear for his new gTLD’s of .XYZ and .College
The .XYZ store is now opened and selling the “Latest .XYZ Gear” although it only at the moment has a few different shirts for sale.
Dan was the only applicant for .XYZ and won the private auction for .college.
While neither extension has launched and while you probably won’t be able to register a .XYZ or .College domain until next year, you can start rocking the shirts right now.
Looks like the shirts are priced at $25

These shirts should be given out free, just because these guys got lucky first time around by typing in a domain, and holding it out, does not mean they have what it takes to run a registry.
Accredited high education facilities already have many options when it comes to domain names, .college might have a few vanity names, or extortion defensive reg tactics, but can’t seeing it being in business after Year 2.
.xyz alot has been buzzed about the german marker, but when marketing to a world wide audience it basically translates to .whocares
A lot of these guys will be hoping the domainers embrace their extensions, and reserve them long enough to get some cash flow, but it really seems doubtful. What Rick S has stated other than a few obvious terms, many extensions will have a hard time finding registrations for the endless space of terms. We will see 99 cent domain registrations, when they get desperate.
.us, .biz, .travel if unlaunched previously would be among the top contenders, but insiders already know how they have played out. You can purchase a 3L.biz for under $300 today, that is considered a premium term, but with a unwanted extension. Take a hint guys, don’t let these guys who lucked out on some good .com’s sucker you into putting your hard earned money into their hoop dream.
Nothing personal, but it had to be said.

Seriously, who is going to spend $25 to advertise some obscure extension that does not even exist yet? If anything the shirts should be free, or people should be paid to wear them.

@Raymond
That crazy thing you are talking about it’s being done everyday, walk outside and see some people, they are all advertising some brand. It’s not good to stay locked up in front of a comp for days 😀
