Nothing strange here. Reserve prices are clearly targeted at end users, while SnapNames is a rather “domainer” site. Good domains at wrong prices or in wrong place. Of course someone could place bids below reserve price “just for fun”, but apparently nobody wants to bother.

Knock a zero or two off the reserves, then try again
Leonard P Britt says
If you overprice your inventory, you will have a difficult time selling it. I cannot recall the last time I used Snapnames – years ago. I got tired of having to transfer names out of obscure registrars.

Some nice names but most are grossly overpriced………new browser technology and smart searching is changing everything!
Domainer Extraordinaire says
Marchex must think they are Rick Schwartz.
Russ says
It’s the combination of price and venue; the top 10 names could sell at those prices, but not on Snap.
Hopefully they’re selling names elsewhere, since that’s how they plan to fund the dividend going forward.

It happens in every cratering market.
There’s always a group of people standing in the rubble, holding up a sign offering to sell (whatever) for the price it may have brought 5 years ago.
Pointing out whenever an end-user buys a domain does not a sustainable market make. There’s a lot of people who own a lot of shit, things are changing rapidly and this isn’t 2005 anymore.
Wake up or go ahead, make an ass of yourself holding ‘auctions’ like this and expect anything but tumbleweeds.
