this seems more like a recapitalization or prepackaged BK than a liquidation, with the old owners holding a 300 million dollar note. the company isnt exactly running on empty, just not enough to support the debt, didnt they say 200 million in revenue n the last 6 months?

Wow, this explains a lot. I’ve been an affiliate with these folks and have made $XXXX over the last year from one of my websites. About five weeks ago, I changed my site, which had 6 of their affiliate banners on the homepage, to only have one banner, thinking it would drive more clicks and income. Interestingly enough, from about that day forward, I didn’t make another penny, but my traffic had not decreased. I put multiple ads back on it thinking I screwed something up, but still no $. I wasn’t able to figure out what was going on until I read this post. I’ve sent e-mails to their support over the last couple of weeks, with no response. There is no indication on any of their sites that there was (or is) an issue, so they are currently capitalizing on a lot of traffic they are likely not going to be paying for.
It’s no wonder that they went bankrupt. I can’t tell you how many times they sent me a check for somebody’s sign-up, only to then subtract the amount from my account two or three weeks later, claiming a “charge-back” had occurred. Not a smart way to do business, IMO.
Well, thanks for the post and showing my the light! Gonna have to search for some new adult affiliates! Too bad though, the conversions through these affiliate links were better than any others I had (adult or not).
