The domain name Check.me was at a Sedo auction with a reserve price of $2,500 back in 2010.
Today according to to The Term Sheet, Check (f.k.a. Pageonce), a Palo Alto, Calif.–based mobile app for tracking and paying bills, which used the domain name Check.me, raised $24 million in Series C funding.
Menlo Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Morgenthaler Ventures and Pitango Venture Capital.
This is the second example just from today how our post that the future of Domaining is all about branding which can come from one of many TLD’s.
Earlier we wrote about a company using a .Co domain name that just raised over $100 Million in funding.

In addition to the usual suspects (Twitter, Evernote, Waze, Pandora, ESPM, etc), I’ve got 11 stellar .me apps on my mobile (all w/at least 2 million in funding), which is more than any extension w/the exception of mighty .com.
I sold several super premium .me domains, which one day I may regret. But still have several winners, and a a few in developing stage.

I sold a .me 3 weeks ago for $6K and I just sold a similar one .me for $1,250.
Sedo didnt report any of those sales but I really dont care about that as long as I keep selling.
