A UDRP was filed on the generic domain name Whistles.com a couple of months ago and today the proceeding is showing as being “terminated”.
The complainant in the UDRP was Whistles Limited of London. who according to the updated whois records just obtained control of the domain.
The previous owner was a iGenesis Limited of Hong Kong.
The domain name according to screenshots was parked with results mostly for women’s gowns, dresses and clothing which happens to be the business of Whistles Limited according to their site at whistles.co.uk is a women clothing site.
Of course the site could have just shown results parked results for Whistles, dog whistles, even musical instruments, and most likely would have been 100% safe. didn’t.
Most recently the domain was being parked at Rook Media and the domain seems to be redirected to Macys.com which would be a competitor to Whistles.com
Of course the negotiations between the parties could have resulted in a cash payment to the domain holder but the domain holder having parked the domain on the exact business of the complainant may mean that the domain owner just gave up the domain and tried to keep the results of the UDRP quiet.
Until now.
