I just saw a press release announcing a new web site for the sale of sex toys and its another example of a failed branding attempt.
Keep in mind that is costs several hundred of dollars to send out a press release and in this case they are adverising the roll out of their new site, SextasyToyCircus.com
Its a horrible domain name worth less than it cost to send out a press release through PRNewswire.
Here is the kicker, as of the time of publication the shorter and more meaningful domain name SexToyCircus.com is AVAILABLE to be registered.
While SexToyCircus.com isn’t a great name either its a LOT better than SextasyToyCircus.com.
Another day and another branding failure.
At some point maybe some of these guys will reach out to companies in the domain space for help in making domain acquisition decision, until that day comes we will keep calling them out.
