A UDRP has just been filed by Television Division of Bennett, Coleman & Company Limited against Marchex on the domain name ZoomTv.com with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
If you thought that the complainant of the UDRP is the owner of Zoom.tv you would be wrong.
That domain is owned by Herethereandeverywhere, Inc
The complainant however is no small fry.
The company owns and publishes the The Times of India, which appearently isn’t just the widest read newspaper in India but is the has the largest circulation among all English-language newspapers in the world.
While they do not own Zoom.Tv they do own the domain name ZoomTv.in (.in is the ccTLD for India) which redirects to its main site at zoomtv.indiatimes.com
Zoomtv.com has an registration date of 2003 while ZoomTv.in was first registered in 2005.
Should be an interesting one and we will follow it for you.

@JB may choose to not take this case, @LM, because he fights winning cases. It would have been slam dunk, being that ZoomTV.com.au is its own Australian brand, except that a cursory search on Google:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:zoomtv.com
Zoomtv.com
w.zoomtv.com/
Watch Zoom TV Online · Kathrena Kaifhotvedio · Kareena Hot Photos · Bollywood Planet · Hot Six Movie · Download Hindi MP3 Songs · Aishwarya Rai Bikini
demonstrates content appeared at one time which may be construed as trademark infringement, before Marchex pulled the site.
