39 more New gTLD applications have passed ICANN’s Initial Evaluation (IE) and for the record the first non-IDN new gTLD extension to pass IE, is Amazon’s application for .Play.
Other applications passing today are for the generic .Party, .Energy, .Food
Some of the new religion new gTLD’s passed today as well as both .Mormon.and .Church passed IE
Other generic applications passing today are .Wedding, .Menu, .Camera, .Fishing, .Buy, .City and .Tech
On the brand front some domains passing IE today include .SamsClub, and .Delmonte
The first Geo new gTLD domain name that passed IE is .Helsinki
There were 50 domain names in the group evaluated today meaning that 12 domains were not cleared through IE.
As of today 131 new gTLD’s have passed IE out of the first 150 applications.
It should be noted that some of the applications that have passed IE still fact objections from rights holders or others who filed objections.
