A UDRP has just been filed by Ferrero S.p.A. on the Generic domain name kinder-chocolate.com
If you don’t know “kinder” is German for “children”.
Here is the interesting part, the same company owns the domain name kinderchocolate.com which they just registered in August 2012.
The domain name kinder-chocolate.com was registered back in 2009.
The domain kinderchocolate.com which is owned by the company that just filed the UDRP doesn’t even resolve.
It takes a lot of nerve to file a UDRP on a variation of a generic domain, registered before your domain was registered especially when your own domain doesn’t even resolve.

I can see KinderChocolate.com was registered recently because it’s a drop domain and was previously owned by someone else as long as 2008. Just checked through Archive.org
Michael Berkens says
Doesn’t change the claim of the complainant to the UDRP
AbdulBasit.com says
You are right. I just wanted to share the info 😉
Grim says
Hyphens are really popular when it comes to domain names, so I can see why they’re going after this one. I would do a UDRP on The-Domains.com if I were you, Michael.
Grim says
Forgot to put the 😉 in the previous post.

Although the word Kimder is generic, kinder chocolate is from generic, i don’t think you guys over in USA have them, but over inUK Kinder suprise eggs are very very well known, this may not be as open and shut as you think imo.

Looks like it would be more relevant if the domain at issue was KinderSurprise.com
Michael Berkens says
Grim
not worth the $5K
Bobby says
Possibly, but kinder suprise is only 1 product from kinder. http://www.kinderschokolade.de/
I am not saying if the UDRP will be succesful or not, but kinder chocolate is well known over here

Just adding some info out there that i believe wont make this easy to defend, could go either way imo

Michael,
I think that the problem here is the mixing of the 2 languages.
KinderSchokolade.com is generic.
ChildrenChocolate.com is generic.
It might seem odd or even suspicious to the Panel why someone would register Kinder-Chocolate.com.
Lorenzo Rabattoni says
I don’t know if “kinder chocolate” it’s a TM or not, but it’s a well-known product of Ferrero, at least here in europe.
