A few days ago Kim Dotcom announced his plan for a new version of his Megaupload site which would use the domain name Me.ga.
.Ga is the country code or ccTLD for the country of Gabon.
Last night the government of Gabon said it would suspend the internet domain Kim Dotcomhe had planned used for the service.
According to Phys.org, Communications Minister Blaise Louembe said yesterday:
Dotcom tweeted in response that the announcement showed the “reach of the US” of and media company Vivendi.
“Don’t worry. We have an alternative domain. This just demonstrates the bad faith witch hunt the US government is on.”
As we have often discussed a ccTLD is subject to the rules and laws of the host country and clearly in Gabon the government can unilaterally suspend a domain name even prior to use.

Mike Mann says the only logical play here is to buy Gabon.com from me.

Shame they were late for ga.me – could be a more better option: http://links2.me/~WBi$eB
Kim can now consider upload2.me
