ICM announced that its search engine, Search.XXX is now live.
According to a Press release sent to us tonight, ICM Registry, the registry operator for the .XXX top-level domain name (TLD) for online adult entertainment, “launched a search engine dedicated to making millions of pages of adult content accessible, organized, and more enjoyable”.
Search.XXX bills itself as “the search engine for porn.”
Search.xxx works just like popular search engines, except while some search engines reportedly de-rank adult sites in order to filter adult content out of regular searches, our new search engine helps consumers accurately find and enjoy all manner of porn – because it searches only .XXX domain-based porn. With more than 21 million pages of .XXX content crawled, no matter what consumers are looking for, Search.xxx allows for safe and effective searching for any fetish or genre, across multiple languages and sexual orientations.
Search.xxx stands apart from other search engines because it was built on a foundation of discretion and peace of mind.
All .XXX sites contained within Search.xxx are Malware scanned daily by McAfee and each site comes with a MetaCert electronic Family Safety label making it easier for users, organizations and parents to adjust browser settings to restrict access to websites labeled as adult oriented content.
“We are able to offer millions of pages of .XXX content on a platform that is responsible and user friendly,” Lawley said. “This is a safer, responsible environment where users aren’t subjected to potentially annoying images and offers that plague some porn portals. The site is also free of pop ups, pop unders and other unwelcome distractions. It’s just a better user experience.”
“Users can access the search engine through their mobile or desktop browsers. It is a free service with no downloads required or accounts to set up, and no need to provide any personally identifying information. After the user verifies that they are over 18 years old, they are presented with an easy to use interface and customizable environment. ”
“Consumers can set preferences including language and sexual orientation, and they can start searching, including through the use of up to 50 popular categories. Once the user finds a site that interests them, they simply click on the chosen URL and are directed to the chosen site.”
Some other features of Search.XXX:
You can find ALL the porn anyone could ever want in one place: all porn and only porn as Search.xxx indexes only developed .XXX sites (over 20 million pages of .XXX content crawled).
Easy to use interface and environment: unlike regular search engines, results aren’t mixed in with non-porn results meaning you get instant access to what you’re looking for.
Unlike sites that offer porn, the Search.xxx interface is not an assault on your senses with pop ups/pop unders and other unwelcome or abusive distractions. It’s just a better user experience.
Easily customizable: you can set your language preference, sexual orientation preference, and can actually set your own mood: change the style and “look and feel” of your experience. The index also has various categories and selections already set, based on popular web surfing habits.
Porn sites typically bombard surfers with their own advertising even after users have clicked on a link to a video from another site.
With Search.xxx, once you click on a link to a video you go directly to the originating provider’s site. Subtle difference, but an important one to webmasters who generate revenue from advertising.

No more Malware from porn sites? No more pop-up ads? Parents can restrict minor access to adult content? Gee, no wonder companies like Manwin are upset. We can’t have THAT now can we? I say we stick with the status quo of viruses, misleading links, pop-up ads, providing adult content to minors, and all the other dirty tricks which have, up to now, constituted adult entertainment online. This pervasion of common sense and responsibility with respect to adult content cannot be permitted to thrive.

Your blog posting title says that Search.XXX is the first all adult search engine, but there are several others, including http://www.sexmaniac.com which I started in the 1990s.
