Just coming across the Sedo sales wire is the domain name GameGlobe.com which is owned by Marchex.com (MCHX) which just sold for $50,000
The domain sale is still in escrow at Sedo so we will have to wait to see who the buyer is.
Doing a search on Google I don’t have a good guess as to whom the buyer might be or why they were willing to pay $50K for the domain, other than its game related.
Snow Globe I get Game Globe not so much.
Any help from the readers would be appreciated on this one.
On a related note, Marchex shares have been falling recently and today hit a 52 week low of $3.64 closing down over 5%.
Marchex’s market cap is now $122 Million, well below what it paid for the Yung Yee portfolio alone.

GameGlobe is a nice brandable domain, and we’ve seen other gaming related domains sell for good prices, so I’m not too surprised. The right game can attract millions of players who keep coming back. I guess we have to wait and see.
Marchex might be a good buy right now at that market cap, thanks for putting it on my radar.

To much being spent on managment expenses, fire everyone, list all the domains on sedo, and have a 1 man show, stock will bounce back.

Yea like I said two years ago just wait until it is taken private.

GameGlobe has been taken in most major extensions, so maybe some large project is planned.

Looks like an interesting project, I hope they get their ROI. They probably plan big things since they invested 50K just in the name…
